Hello World. I'm Ian Monahan

About Me

If the game isn't fun, why are you playing it?

Pokemon Leaf Green is a game I have invested an unholy amount of time into… How about you? Early versions of mobile games made a great impact on me as a younger player. It was a world where everyone was on the same playing field, and player experience was the priority! These are the types of games I strive to design, and also the types of games I like to play!

I want to build dark, fantasy, RPG, and adventure games that cater to the player experience.

Fall 2021, UC Santa Cruz, B.S. Computer Game Design.

My emphasis in the study and application of Game Design has been on player experience, strategy, and programming. I enjoy solving each piece of the programming puzzle to bring original concepts to life.

I have experience using Unity, Unreal Engine, and Godot and am comfortable learning and using new tools. I also have experience in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, OpenGL Shader Language, Objective C, and JavaScript.
